REMEMBER THE LITTLE NASH?

Most of us remember the Nash back in the Fifties when the 57 Chevy ruled the drag strips and circle joints as King of the times, and the little Nash was something to ridicule with your buddies. But did you know that the Nash was something of a War Hero in World War II? Its true! This 1942 Magazine ad lays it out for you. Nash and Kelvinator, was involved in projects with the Military during War II. You might also remember your mom’s Kelvinator washing machine. The little ugly Nash went to serve our country as one of the most infamous and dreaded “Dog Fighters” of the Pacific war theatres during World War II. It was known as the Gull Wing Corsair, a highly sofisitcated fighter aircraft with a very high success rate against the Nipon airforce over the South Pacific Seas. They also manufactured the 2000 horsepower Pratt-Whitney engine that powered this awesome fighter. In some respects, if you look closely at the little Nash, you will see some resemblances to the first production models of the Corsair. “If I only knew then what I know now.” I would have stayed away from Earl’s Chili Dogs, and I would have probably courted Mary Sue in a Nash. Mmmmm….Not………….!
